Very frustrated with service we have received from Pep Boys. Had a transmission replaced,with a "certified" used transmission, to the tune of $3500 in April 2017 and it has NEVER functioned properly. We were told to drive it home to another state and have it repaired there at another Pep Boys (that service was even worse). Supposedly, two more "certified" used transmissions installed into the vehicle but again have NEVER functioned properly. We were then told BY PEP BOYS to take it to someone closer to our home and chose a transmission specialist to see if they could repair it. This shop didn't even get into the transmission just fixed a cracked filter and a bent in pan that we are assuming one of the previous Pep Boys left bent and cracked when they "repaired/replaced" the transmission. (We were even told by initial Pep Boys that they dropped the transmission off the lift getting it out of the car. Supposedly, it was the original broken one but we are beginning to wonder.) It ran better but NEVER right, until recently and is now messed up again. Service lights back on! We paid for an extended warranty on these used transmissions that Pep Boys is now REFUSING to guarantee because we took it to someone else, on their recommendation! We have done NOTHING that we were not told to do by Pep Boys and now we are going to have to pay ANOTHER $2400 to have a rebuilt transmission put into our vehicle. Which begs another question why did Pep Boys charge us $3500 for a used (you pull it/wrecked) transmission that probably cost them $600 to purchase but we are getting a new REBUILT one at a reputable shop for $2400! So, not only was the work they did shottie it was very overpriced. We were broke down in a state we no longer lived in and were at the mercy of an auto repair shop to fix our vehicle and they let us down completely. Just because you have a certain skill set that an individual does not have should not mean you can hang them out to dry. DO NOT have any MAJOR work done at Pep Boys!
I called and made an appointment to have an oil change and an alignment for 5/7/17 at 2pm. I bought 4 tires from Pep Boys this past Sept 2016 so my alignment was going to be free of charge. After my husband and I got a baby sitter we arrived at Pep boys about 10 minutes til our appointment. After standing in line forever the guy at the desk finally ask us how he could help us. Told him I had an appointment at 2pm to have these services done. He looks at us and tells me we will have to leave it cause it will be several hours or they could do it tomorrow. I told him we weren't available the next day which was Monday. AND I also have a coupon that I was planning to use which expires on 5/15/17 that I hope they will honor I took my keys and walked out and I will be calling the manager cause it was ridiculous! Rusty is smart ass and doesn't need to take orders or deal with customers! I wishni could give zero stars. Thanks cause I will probably have to spend my Mothers Day weekend getting my car serviced! What a joke!
I went here because my boyfriend scheduled an appointment for my car to have the oil changed. Les and Ryan dealt with us and were extremely helpful. They were honest, on time, and gave multiple phone calls to let us know how we were and if there were any other problems. They also helped me out by cutting the casing to my undercarriage off my car because it was damaged from a previous problem for no charge. My boyfriend ended up scheduling an appointment for the next day! Thank you guys so much for being honest and for your hard work!
They were able to help me with a flat tire quickly, even without an appointment. Great service, awesome people!!
!!!WORSE PLACE TO EVER TAKE YOUR CAR!!! Consider yourself warned : Do NOT take your business there!! MY TRUCK GOT BROKEN INTO WHILE IT WAS THERE!! They didn't show an ounce of worry about it. DID NOT CARE AT ALL!!!! No follow up...you have to call yourself to find out if they even touched your car. Promise to call you back and never ever do. You pay to have a problem fixed and you leave with the same problem, not fixed.
